Why Maricopa County’s ballot printers failed on Election Day
From
the Newsbreak, I saw the photo of the voters waiting in line at the Mesa
polling location on November 8, 2022. While Maricopa County investigates what
caused the machines to reject thousands of ballots from the voters during
election day, a vote beat analysis of technical evidence found that local
officials may have pushed the county’s ballot printers past their limits. Aside
from this, the thickness of the ballot paper, the need to print on both sides,
and the high volume of in-person voting may have contributed to the poor print
quality of ballots. So I really think that there’s a need for
development. Read more.
